Pissed

pissed. Twice. BRRRR.. one incident with myself and the other with someone else who shall not be named so I wont run the risk of being sued.. (it’s dangerous around here you know..*wink*)

so I’ve always believed that my clothes should Not go thru the dryer on high heat so that it will last longer, wont frail or shrink too easily. got to the basement a couple of days ago to check how much the machines cost (washer and dryer) to do my laundry. Total cost: $2.50. sigh. it is really that expensive here.. anyways, decided i had quite a lot of stuff to wash. it was already 2 weeks plus since the last time i did my laundry with serene (it cost $3 over at her place but we shared so $1.50 each). amazing huh? decided not worthed me carrying my stuff over and share with her this time so i just went down to do my laundry. the basement's not too bad.. not as sketchy as what some people might label basements. =p my basket was really full (i used sth like a milk carton box, it's plastic) and i had placed the bottle of detergent on the very top of the huge pile. now, the front door is usually locked so i struggled a little to get it open and when it finally swung open, the bottle of detergent swang with it and woola.. it landed on the floor with a loud thud and bleah.. the bottle cap uncovered and out came half the bottle. sigh. it was all over the front door mat. i didnt know what i could do or how i could clear the mess so i decided i'd just leave it alone and get back to it after i dumped my laundry in the washing machine. ended up, i placed the mat on one side, near the wall to dry (i think it is slip-free so the bottom of the mat was a little "waterproof" or well, liquid-proof. heh). but the entire apt smelt nice from that. haha. =p

well it wasn't the end of the "oppsy-daisy" coz i placed the (now) washed clothes into the dryer, inserted $1.25 and started it on "delicate permanent press" to dry. bad choice. coz 2 hours later when i came down to get my laundry, it was still damp!! BRRR!! i was so upset. there were too many pieces of clothes to bring it up to my room to air dry (and obviously i wont that space either) so i had to climb up 3 floors to get 5 more quarters (five 25cents - the machines only accepts quarters, another sad thing) and leave it to "normal permanent press". well, i could have taken a ride on the T (it's the equivalent of our MRT) for that $1.25 but oh well..

the other incident? serene told me she was going to Maine (i think it's spelt like that) to go shopping and the beach. it sounded interesting so i asked if i could tag along. she called her leader (who shall not be named) and asked "is it ok if i asked sarah along?". response: "(pause - assume thinking of politically correct answer) maybe she [that's me] should join young adults instead. i'll call peggy [the person from young adult that has been "forced" to be the point of contact for me] to ask her to organise sth and ask sarah along". FAINT. how would you feel if i called your mum and told her that "hey, your daughter, she's free. take her out." i was really completely annoyed and speechless. duno what to take out of it. i'm not allowed to go just because i'm not from MIT? because i'm a grad sch student (all the girls are undergrads and hence, yonger than me)? will my going affect their spiritual growth? will it cause the fellowship to be bad? i dun understand. it's almost the last straw i'm taking from BBC. have decided to go to another church to visit today. i'm really quite pissed with who shall not be named and also quite upset over the whole issue. it's not the first time i've been pushed to young adults by her!! and mind you, most of them are working young adults (or adults for that matter) while i'm still in grad school. yes, i'll be out of grad sch next year and i might be able to identify better with working people when i'm working but pushing me there when i dunno anyone and NOT allow me to stay with a friend that i'm comfortable with? i think i'm at the limits.

----

if u think all that had to be upsetting, think again: sth major happened this week in sch. quite drained from it but i'm thankful that God saw me thru. also had support from my love, my mum (i didnt get to speak to dad) and a couple of close friends. at least everything's over for now. come monday, it'll be back to normal teachings (actually, maybe an increase) and heavy classes at harvard (the past week was quite slack!! i like!! =p). lots of readings. like 100+ pages just for 1 day?!? dont worry, i dun intend to kill myself by reading everyth.. probably just skim thru (learning this 'vital' art) and spend more time preparing my lesson plans instead..

** i had man tou (steamed bun) this morning and i baked duck leg @ 12mn last night. =p
