so we headed to wrentham for the 3rd time in 3 years. a black friday "affair" not to be missed. even tho love had to work on friday. the sale started at 12midnight after thanksgiving (thanksgiving is thu) - we left home abt 10-ish and got there abt 15mins before midnight (the drive is supposed to take only 45-50mins on normal days). yes, we were in a jam for about a 1.5miles-stretch before the outlets - tons of cars. we got smart last year and took small roads instead of the highway coz we got stuck the first year for 2.5hours! we've always gone by ourselves coz pple thot we were crazy to go shop at such hours but this time, there were 10 of us. 4 of wx's friends from duke (aka as dukies) and 2 other friends (a couple - one his classmate in MIT). jon was visiting us from wisconsin so dragged him along. he was quite shocked to see so many people (some queues were still long even at 3am when we left!) - will load up some pics after he sends them to me. lol.
had to leave early coz love had to go to work later in the morning. would have been nice to shop more? haha. maybe not. i got only 2 items. a hat and a sweater from j.crew. love bought 3 working pants, a pair of running shoes and 2 headgears. =p
everyone was sleeping in the car except me. and i have to admit there were a few occassions when i felt i almost drifted into a deep doze. oops. but i prayed hard that God will keep us safe (read: keep me up, since i was driving). i didnt dare to 1. turn up the music (for obvious reasons) or 2. turn down the window coz it was below zero deg C outside! plus our car is still new - haven't "burn in" yet so cannot travel at fast speeds. max 50/55mph. felt slow. perhaps that's good too also, since it would've been more dangerous speeding? =p if you ever shld wanna come over to visit us during thanksgiving, you know what u're in for!
