Jobs

the thing about graduation is that you are open to a world of possibilities. a world w/o certainty. yes, I know that my God is a God of certainty. =) but yet, at the back of my mind, even way before the graduation day approaches, i can't help but think of what may come when i finally wear the gown and mortar board (never worn one. yet.) job. full-time. a huge thing. a leap of faith.

i've been receiving emails for jobs but have not heard back from any - those that i replied. nothing after the interviews (i had a 20min phone interview in the middle of a big car park, in a rental car, in a pouring rain =p). i guess the thing about being in harvard is that recruiters and companies (or sch HR) look for you. haha! i don't much to offer, other than expertise in math (tho compared to my neighbours charmaine and chris moh, i'm far FAR behind). and it gets more stressful when pple around accepted job offers. =| *sarah needs to learn to TRUST in the Lord MORE*

pls pray for me. keng and i are very keen to go back to sgp for hols in aug but that can only happen if i get a job soon. obviously the earlier the better (read: less stress when the path ahead is lighted), coz the air tickets will be cheaper too. i really miss home, family and friends esp. couple of times like wanna throw down everything and run home, but i also know that it's not possible - can't run half the world around right? it would be crazy. =p miss the food, miss being able to be understood, miss being able to pick up the phone and go out for meals with friends.

i did receive an email today, asking if i would be interested in a 4th grade position, primarily teaching maths and writing (wah!). i'm not too confident about it coz i'm not elementary education certified but mum asked me to try nonetheless (since they emailed me first after receiving my resume for a middle sch math position). it's a good school, with high expectations. like a min of 5 year or more teaching experience.. which obviously i don't have. i guess i can import the math knowledge i picked up from sgp education system and hopefully work my way through the english writing part. =p

thanks to folks for praying. i think i might be able to settle on the housing for my parents soon and keng's internship company HR person has agreed to go to view the house we found online (so nice of her!) i'll be looking for a part-time teaching job near his workplace over the summer so can earn enough to head home. pls pray that everything will fall into place as God leads.
