Week Seven

it was a tiring week. i had day camp OLS (Outdoor Living Skills) but somehow along the line, i didnt have enough time (even if i did, i was so tired, i rested) to do much by myself. everyday 2 hours are blocked out as special timeslot for OLS activities. we did a massive nature hike (2 whole hours of walking around our camp property), learnt how to set up campfires (i was already very experienced by now but the kids, some of them were there @ camp for the first time), orientate with a compass & build a shelter (the gals did a huge A-frame tent while the boys made an interesting one -- of which i duno how to name it). the kids stayed over for one night even though they were day camp kids. special i guess.. we got to join the resident camp for 2 meals (thu dinner & fri lunch) as well as other activities like all-camp & thu night campfire. for all-camp, we had to use materials given to us to protect 'Mr Egg' (or so we named our egg) so that his (its) 'flight' on a catapult was safe & he was travel far.. it was an amazing 'invention' & ideas given the kids came out with that made it pretty fun.. too bad i took my hour off during then so i didnt get to see Mr Egg fly.. =p

well, lest to say i enjoyed the fresh blueberry (we picked them off the bushes!!) pancakes Emily & i made on fri morning most of the entire camp.. *grinz* it was just superb! absolutely delicious! i mean.. imagine having fresh blueberries, all hand-picked & washed. the pan over the nice hot fire which we set up & yep, the blueberries melting in your mouth.. mmm mmm.. =p

i'm now @ Pastor Scott's house. spent fri night over @ Judy's house once again.. heh. woke up pretty early (abt 8am-ish.. considered early for weekends). Judy & Roy (her husband) had planned to take us (Sung Hye & i) to Newport, after which they would drive us to Pastor's place where we would go for sat service & stay over @ his place.. it was fun! we really enjoyed the company of Judy & Roy (whom we now learnt from Lora -- their granddaughter -- how to call them 'Gram-my' & 'Gram-py' *smiles*). shall not elaborate much now.. but it was wholesome fun. had real Korean food for dinner (Sung Hye was 'dying' from the lack of it).. another fun-filled weekend..

last week of camp liaoz.. *crosses fingers & tries to smile*
