Fantastic Weekend!

yay! this is the first time i've left my lappy on for the entire weekend.. partly because i'm able to leave it online since i'm staying over at a friend's house.. *smiles =)* i've been in day-camp for most part of the summer (& the coming week too!) so i've been going on van-runs quite often. the lady who drives the van, judy (whom i'm spending the weekend with), was coughing really bad one time. i asked her to pull over at the well, sort of supermarket-cum-pharmacy so i could run in & buy her some cough drops.. i became her 'mother' since.. hahha. matter of fact is that she's a grandmother to a very sweet gal & a pair of lovely twins (yes, twins once again!).

well, though i spent almost USD$120 today, i felt it was all worthwhile.. hahah. yes, yes. excuses. hahha.. bought lotsa stuff.. well, hard-earned money but well-spent. i've been resisting for most part of the summer. got a couple of things for other pple. =p so guys (& gals), you better be glad k? i'm spending for you.. hahha. well, who ask me to love all of you so much? i just cant stop thinking of who else i need to get something for, what else can i get? hahha.. abit guilty because i hafnt gotten anything for my parents yet. opps.. =p but rest assured, although my luggage wont be able to fit everything (i've bought quite a bit of stuff since i got here), i should be able to keep the weight below 60kg.. *keeps fingers crossed*

anyway, the little girl's lora. she was one of my campers during the first week of the summer. she's really, really adorable. i forgot to bring my camera out today! - duno what i was thinking man! but i've photos of her before.. shall get them when i see her at church tomorrow - if i remember to bring my camera along that is.. hahah. she's really sweet & guess what? yep, she tagged along me & sung hye to shop! we went shopping! @ some factory outlets in massachusetts. it was really cheap, compared to what you get at the stores.. it was a planned trip together with traciann & odette (counselors from jamaica, who stayed over at linda's place - one of the pple working at the office in camp), linda as well as lora's mum (carolyn), lora's grandma (judy) & lora's younger twin bros (alex & brian).. i took carolyn's car with the twins while lora went with the others in her grandma's.. had a lovely chat & of coz, had fun playing with the 2 boys.. they're 2.5 years old. really cute ones. hahha.. interestingly, they're fracternal twins, i.e. non-identical. one has straight hair, one has curly hair.. well, both their personality's pretty different too. =p oh by the way, we had authentic chinese food yesterday for dinner!! yay!! hahha.. but i guess nothing beats home-cooked food. as i was eating, i couldnt help wonder if i could arrange for dad to come over to start a restuarant or something.. that would be cool. =p anyway, our hosts last night was very excited to open 'fortune cookies' because.. they had little notes inserted in them (duhz) with chinese characters that came together with an english explanation & pronounciation (so called 'han yu pin yin' - but there were those that were totally wrong!). john (carolyn's husband) got so excited, he opened every single cookie he could lay his hands on & tried to 'read' what was on the back of the notes (the front had some english saying like 'it's good to eat chinese food' - duhz). got me to guess what he was trying to read (rather, pronounce). heh. was interesting. though some of them it was pretty hard to understand the sound of what had come out of his mouth. hah. sung hye & i used chopsticks.. even though we were hafin rice. ahhaha. =p the last time we used it was the trip to boston when we ate japanese food.. but other than that, it really had been a long time. =p the folks were pretty 'amazed' at how 'easy' we picked up food. lora was supposed to 'learn' from us but gave up without much attempt. she seemed more interested to use 1 stick in each hand & poke at the food.. which i mean, was successful in getting food into her mouth (& tummy) - which mattered most. =p

oh yah, & we got to sleep on a 'real' bed this weekend. judy has a sofa bed which sung hye & i shared. hey, what's a queen-sized bed for rite? we had real sheets & blankets with 2 big, squishy pillows (i hafnt had a real pillow since i came to US). the water that runs the taps are from a well deep underground so it's really very sweet. got to eat cooked vegetables last night - for the 1st time since i left seattle.. judy made sure we got them at dinner tonight as well.. so sweet of her. we prepared salad (basically washed the vegetables & cut them into pieces) & the fruits for dessert. decided that since we didnt fork out money for meals, we did the dishes & dried every single piece of silverware (or what we call cutlery) as well as tupperware. =p shall leave the laptop on for sung hye to use while i rest my eyes.. will come on later to see if anyone's online but i doubted it because it's sun morning & everyone's at church.. or sleeping-in. hhaha..

it really has been the best weekend so far.. =)
