weird

christian's family has been staying with us. well, not quite his whole family, since there are 5 of them. we're hosting 3 pple (christian + youngest bro + mum) but we hardly interact, much less talk. they spend most of the day out - which i think is fine, since both of us are also working. at least my thinking is, if i were to stay at someone's house, the tendency is that the parents are usually the very hospitable (read: excited) one and they 'make sure' to make u feel at home. or sometimes rather, too paiseh to do anyth out of the room u're in. coz they're too nice. haha. oh wells. i guess everyone is different, and i just need to learn to be more tolerant. =)

went to this info session today. they're trying to align math standards in the elementary & middle sch. what's cool abt it is it's a district initiative. the 'moe' dept making all 5th grade math teachers participate.. and coaxing other sch lvl teachers to join in. there's stipends for doing surveys and attending courses. some of the courses seem somewhat too elementary for me or my kids. duno. they are also the body that can collect data easily. which is cool if i ever want to pursue a phd? (am i hearing myself right? are you hearing me right? phd?!?) perhaps the academia route may be too hard. too many barriers of entry. maybe i'll go straight into industry? i.e. educational software development? this is so weird too! haha. pls pray for keng and myself as we wander into this area.. =)
