assignment for next year

i guess having a tentative assignment for next year = confirmed position in school?!? lol

well, for a change, i'll be teaching 4 sections of 7th graders (sec 1) and 1 section of 9th graders (sec 3). will have 2 preps. as in lesson preps. will be very "interesting" to see how that tests my higher level of math knowledge. i had a student in my study today who had the algebra 2 textbk. i asked if i can borrow it. he looked at me blankly and said it's an algebra 2 book -- perhaps he knew i was teaching pre-algebra and felt i won't need it (read: understand it). ok, reading too much into it. =p

i spent the next like 45mins going thru the book. i probably didnt pick up that much. =p but i did type out some stuff that maybe i shld look at over the summer (else i totally lost next year). shared over lunch with 2 other math teachers what they are assigned to for next year. tim told me he could pass me the teacher's guide book. yay! was just worrying how to re-learn those stuff i've forgotten. =) like the current arrangement. at least i'm teaching sth new, and a higher lvl. RJ's VP (who visited awhile back) said it'll be easier to find a teaching position in SG if i teach upper sec and higher. i might get some of my old students (last year taught them 7th; this year they're 8th so next year 9th!)

cant wait for the sch year to be over. next week: mon & tue review. wed holiday. *yay!* thu finals problem sum section, fri 13.2. following mon review (again), tue finals mcqs. then DONE! woohoo!

revised: i meant done with teaching by tue. wed is field day - go out on the field and play games. thu & fri half days. prob watch movies/clean up!
