ok, one more weekend went by real quick. i guess it's partly coz i went back to sch early in the morning on sat (730am!) to invigilate for some paper. PSAT. not sure what that is. lol. but yeah, got some reimbursement for it, so that was good. i managed to mark some papers while getting paid to read our instructions and watch the students do their tests.
sat: so part 2 consisted of us walking in at a honda dealership to check out the honda civic. the price was a little steep for our liking, considering the civic was rather similar to the toyota corolla. of coz the salesman was trying to convince us that the civic is not the same "class" as the corolla and how they have better designs/engine/horse power. quite interesting. we got to test drive the civic. but found nothing much different other than the newness? haha. there was a sound which the salesman identified as the belt being too tight (like we wont even sense if he didnt say. haha!) so i guess it's an experience nonetheless.
part 2 also consisted of us signing an agreement with toyota, after 2 hours of haggling, well, including the part we test-drove the car. =p the dealership was due to close at 6pm - we walked in abt 5pm. lol. however, much to our dismay, the salesman tried to con us and "conveniently" wrote a figure that's before rebate on the line that says "after rebate". hmpf. we went back sun morning. those salesmen whom we spoke to sat night, were "conveniently" not available. not at work until mon. to think the guy who closed the store, some manager, actually asked us to come back the next morning (sun) to talk to whoever and fix it when we told him we had some issues with the figures on sat night. after much hassle, they decided to cancel the contract (we never paid anyth since it was after hours when they took our credit card). now we're just worried about them asking us to pay up, etc even tho the guy emailed us to say they will not hold us to purchase the car. we sought advise from 2 lawyer friends (from church) and they say emails are ok to use in court, but would be better with a physical signature. oh well, pls pray for us as we seek out the best way to deal with this. we managed to find another dealer (tho further from us) that would honor the price we had with this dealer, so pray that we'll be able to get everyth settled and have a new car soon! =p
edited: i got my visa on my bday! the one that i originally couldnt get due to some screw ups. =p
