just realized that you could technically call me a "manager". hah! manager of students. managing their quizzes, their tests (i.e. marking and grading them).. managing their knowledge inputs.. managing their understanding (aka. their brains =p).. managing their parents.. managing the administrative duties verses teaching.. managing the photocopying verses creating tests. phew! they really should pay us more!! but well, that's another story for another time.
anyhows, i havent been the greatest teacher. slow to check on students.. in fact, this guy accumulated 5 demerit points and i've just written them down (have not formally informed him. i.e. write him a note; only told him verbally - though i guess that counts). i feel frustrated sometimes when the kids dont get it and it's not coz they're stupid or anything. far from it! in fact, my "struggling" kids are always those who are late for class, never hand in homework, and simply just not paying attn in class. (read: what's new?) but seriously, i wanna be able to help them. only thing is that it takes 2 hands to clap.. and i'm only "1 hand". what do u do when the kids are busy making friends and not bothering abt classes? what do you do when you've set up extra tutoring but the kid is not there? parents are helpful sometimes.. but mostly, they arent. haha. i dunno how i'll be raising my kids in the future (again, another story for another time =p) but i'm definitely gonna keep praying for those that i'm "managing" now. pls join me to pray over these young lives.
