Car @ repairs

yep, so these dew days i'll be taking the bus to and fro sch. reason being our car we left it at the workshop for the mechanic to fix the problem(s). currently, our car's engine mount had a crack or sth like that, so the engine gets "thrust" forward each time we go from P(ark) to D(rive) and apparently, it's supposed to be dangerous to be driving around like that. oops! -- we've had this problem for quite some time now. haha!

anyway, so he fixed that. and did an oil change. also was time for the state inspection. it seems pretty reasonable for now. hopefully we can "keep" this mechanic and "go to" him whenever we want to get our car in shape. i got to know abt this workshop when i was topping up petrol last week (here in winter, you're supposed to have at least abt half tank because otherwise, it has a higher chance of freezing in the cold...) so i guess thank God for it so far. love and i are thinking of getting a newer car prob next year, if love starts working full-time. now need to save up for wedding first. hehe..

anyway, i wanted to complain: the bus fare is so ex now! haha.. been quite a while since i last took the public bus. it's $1.50/trip now compared to last summer, when i took the bus to sch -- was $0.90 then! that's like 67% increase! sheesh. the train now costs $1.70/ride while it used to be $1.25 when i first came to boston. oh well. i shldn't be complaining that much. must always thank God for all His blessings. i was paying for my dinner at Galleria when the kid behind me asked if i could spare 14cents. i gave him 4 of my pennies (4 cents) coz i only had those. he did have 10 cents so good. but i was thinking to myself.. man, it's really ex to be living here. it's like an average of S$9/meal -- that's like food court price. oh but it's huge portions! like 2 can definitely share one. still though, i think the "poor" here are better off than most pple in other third-world countries. a lot of folks just need to learn to save and how to spend their money wisely (not blindly spending, which increases debt on credit card) but well, it's just not sth that comes easily to everyone. so be thankful that you can discipline yourself! heh.
