drove 180miles to weymouth, ma. then 20 miles up to boston, ma. 38.5 miles to wremtham, ma (factory outlets) and another 38.5miles back. 180miles back to stamford, ct. phew! i'm lazy to compute the figures but i think you get the idea.. lots of driving!
it was a long weekend.. we set off on friday evening - only to be stuck in the rush hour traffic =( boo! but we wanted to travel long distances by night (cooler) and do at least 2/3 the journey the night before because the retreat at pastor's house would start at 9am! so we stayed over at grammy's place. we felt bad always disturbing them but well.. they're "family" after all. =p grampy had the bed set up before he went to bed and he even left me a couple of things. 1. fortune cookie - i love them. yummy 'crackers'.. 2. a towel (which was nice coz we only brought 1 small one..) and 3. a note to tell us not to block the driveway so he could leave at 5am for work (he opens the ymca doors.. =p) poor love was so tired over the entire weekends! by the time we arrived (abt 10:30-ish), he was ready to hit the bed!
the retreat went fine. got to know a lot more people. =) learnt a couple of things abt work visas and legal fees. doesnt seem as much as what SHS's headmaster told me. presented like twice! sigh.. i'm ok with presenting but some pple always push the responsibility to others.. bleah! the food was great! mm mm.. yummy! there was a nice big pool but no one brought their swim stuff (as i expected.. wanted to swim but we were in a rush to go back to boston anyway so i didnt bring anything). sent this lovely elderly lady home. i can see her complete trust in God and how God used that to open doors she never knew she would be walking thru! =) i need to learn to do that as well! went up to eli's place to view his room - we're looking at taking his room for the next year if all goes well. pretty good location. plus a gym upstairs. =p hopefully we'll get this settled by these few days. furniture wise, love was thinking of long-term investment.. so yep, we'll see. went to super 88 foodcourt for dinner and met winnie ong & friends. met this thai girl who's a christian! sorry ah, i dont really have any thai friends (not that i have many) who are christians lah.. i invited her to park street & she said she'll come visit when she's back in the fall - she's gg home for the summer. yay! =)
stayed over with ruijie. he was gg to bring five 17-yr-olds to dim sum (they were here for RIS or Research Science Institute) and invited us along after church. we met like 30 church friends there.. haha. including 6 singaporeans! of coz they were much older than these young punks. =p keng and i did them a very huge favour by driving them down to wremtham - we were actually going to head home after.. 4th july coming up and the sales was pretty good. i helped irene buy a coach handbag which was super cheap, after discount on factory outlet prices. =p got one myself. left boston for stamford abt 7:45pm and reached only at 12midnight. dead tired. one nice thing to look fwd? 4th of july is on wednesday.. nat'l holiday!!
