well, it's a large pool out there. i'm but just one small, little fish. appetite grown after couple of months in a great school. been trying to get 'fished', ok, fishing, for my future. career talks, info sessions. it's time to seek job opportunities. today is no exception. saturday, mind you. but well, the info session was held at a hotel nearby (Hyatt) - abt 3mins' drive.. so yep, yours truly went to take a look. experience reminded me that i should always find out more about the company before going. and so i did. *raises eyebrows* 200usd for an application fee. covers the entry to a job fair and other administrative costs. hmms..
in case you were wondering, yea, the info session was by an independent company that would place people in overseas position for teaching. teach abroad. or so they say. i kinda like the idea that all your living expenses will be covered for (salary, transport, health insurance, etc) but wasnt too sure about having to work in an international (aka american) school. reason being that most of the students would be children of expats. wouldnt be a good immersion of local community. but well, it still is an option. thinking of going japan with keng to do mission work together while teaching. still, that's open and available for God to lead and provide. =)
anyhow, just a short nice testimony to encourage all. so i was trying to be 'early' for the info session (& i thank God i want to do so) and left a wee bit earlier even tho the drive there wouldnt take long. that was good coz i had trouble getting my car out of the lot. the car in front had reversed too close and my car's back tyre couldnt move much coz it was right by the curb - the plate on the wheel was like in line with the curb. i was going to panick but kept my calm and prayed. guess what? Christian walked by. and i don't mean a christian. i mean Christian. haha. ok, one of the indon-singapore guys (he's indon but studied in sgp for couple of years so we consider him sgporean =p). his name is Christian. =p he appeared in my side mirror. i opened the door and he asked what happened? i told him i couldnt move the car (he could see) and heh, he guided me! i couldnt tell how close/not close i was to the car in front mah.. so an extra pair of eyes helped. had to manueouvre like 5 times! but got out eventually! =) *beams. thank God!*
