it was a total disaster. dad's voice rang in my head [never assume. if you do, it's "ass, u & me"] as i messed up the morning's meeting i was facilitating. sigh. i thought. i assumed.. that the materials were all there. chrisitine didn't give me a heads-up that i had to do the printing (ok, blaming someone else here ={ ) and i didn't think about checking it out when i was here at the murphy on tues. bad choice. really bad choice. 10-ish minutes before the meeting, i opened the file and asked christine, "hey, do you know where's the 6-8th grade mcas qns?" she looked blankly at me. "where?" i knew i was in hot soup. she asked me to run it by glenda, our TF (teaching fellow or supervisor) and she glared at me. "what do you want me to do?" sobz. i duno. i'm wondering that it seems after i started driving to sch and didnt take a ride from her, she seemed a lot colder towards me. it was as tho she minded that she now had to leave home earlier because she cldn't use the hov (high occupany vehicle or >2 pple in the vehicle) lane. pray for me. i dun wanna feel that but her actions seem to communicate that.
anyway.. God turned that disaster around. He showed me how impossible can be made possible. 8minutes before the mtg, i took out a marker and started to write a new agenda on a blank piece of chart paper - i cldnt hand out the printed one, we werent going to look at that 6-8 maths data. i had absolutely no idea how the mtg shld be adjusted. just then, (thank God) christine came up with 6 large board that had the preview of the ela (english lang arts) data.. so i went along. initally, i planned to allow feedback/comments from the grade level mtg to last for 15minutes but it 'ended' in 5 (sigh) so i didnt have much of a choice but to move on to the next point. i asked for opinions but none really responded. ended up, we (christine kinda helped) split the group up into 3 groups to look at 2 levels of the ela data each and had them on it for the next 30minutes or so. phew! in my mind, i was profusely asking God to help me and thanking Him that all went well. at the end, my prof who was visiting (he comes once in a long while - like so 'suay' it was my turn to facilitate that he was here), said i did a good job. =) i was a little embarrassed but said thanks. later on, when i apologized to christine for the cock-up, she encouraged me by saying that she thot i did an extremely well and adjusted accordingly even when mat'ls werent available. she said none of them could tell that there were missing stuff and that everyone had left feeling good about accomplishing things. thank GOD!
