Drenched and Dripping with Grace

it was a pretty neat sermon yesterday. went to a new church to visit. called Highrock. interesting name if you ask me. the weekend was pretty good. myung hoon and helen came up from Rhode Island sat morning. myung hoon went back to camp to work after church yesterday while helen stayed at my place until this afternoon. i asked rebecca (my mentor) to let me off a little earlier so i can have a quickie with helen and then send her off to the T station to catch the train/bus to the airport. it's nice being able to travel to the airport easily on public transport. i mean the cab fare is just atrociously expensive!! never have i taken a cab that cost me more than S$50! haha. anyhows.. i'm glad it's a one-off trip. =)

God blessed. i got the school placement i was eyeing for. =) i'm not sure if that means my fellow classmate's unhappy because i have a feeling she wanted to work at this school as well. my mentor-to-be is karen. she's a korean. born in US. parents korean. teaches 6th grade maths (yes!! finally get to work with the younger ones!!) she sounds like she knows her stuff, is ready and willing (always) to go the extra mile to help her students. i'll be teaching 3 classes of Advance Placement (AP) maths. at least i'm praying that the students are really indeed, more "advanced" than those i've seen. i'm quite excited. one drawback is that the school is pretty far - 6.6miles according to the map. travel on the T (subway) and bus will take about a good 30mins, minus any other factors (rush hour, winter - tends to delay/breakdown). i am considering getting a car and sharing with keng.. though i'm not sure if the pros outweigh the cons. pls pray for me.. as we seek wisdom from God and yeah, if He allows, that we can have the money and also a good dealer for good cars (i've never owned a car so.. *smiles*). the other 'concern' is that my mentor doesnt seem to be too pro-active. in fact, i find her a little perssimisstic? maybe i dunno her well so i guess it's too early to say but do pray that whatever differences we may (or may not) have, that God will help me work through them with her.. =)

side note: NO more assignments dued.. *GRINZ* spending the rest of the week after wed learning driving (haven't called for any appointments), sell/buy things online and roam around the area - everyone's (except me!!) going home for hols.. blah =(
