Jump (out of bed)

phew! a literal jump out of bed!

i vaguely woke up to mum's *increasingly panicking* voice. didnt quite hear the phone ring (surprisingly!) but i could tell mum was worked up and panicky. i mustered all the strength i had and said aloud, "what happened?" "your bro forgot to bring his wallet, hp and camp pass!!" as sleepy as i was, i remember thinking to myself, 'gosh, that IS serious!'

mum was already changing but knowing how blur she is when she hasnt even washed up, i jumped out of bed immediately and volunteered to bring the stuff over to AMK mrt station instead. changed into the first attire i could put on hands on, took my wallet, hp and keys.. dumped didi's stuff into the nearest bag and ran out of the house. yes yes, literally run. i didnt even wash up or anything.. and no, i dont think i smelled. =p

so anyways, thank God i got a cab the minute i reached the main road (quite surprising coz usually takes a while and even harder during peaks periods.. altho only 7am). i told the driver that i would be alighting at AMK while my bro will continue the journey to his camp. the driver turned and stared hard at me (as though sth was seriously wrong) and said "no, no, cannot be done" (in chinese of coz.. thankfully, i still can speak in chinese even after jumping out of bed) "if that's the case, i cant.. coz i wont be earning that flagdown fee of $2.40" (duh, i wasnt planning to cheat him of his money.. this was a real emergency!!)

i was like "huh?? aiyah.. i pay u lah. pls go, it's urgent.." so off he went, driving pretty fast. =p need to thank God for clear roads! he was pretty relectant.. saying this should never be the case. can only pick pple but not "exchange" (i.e. i get off the cab and my bro take over) so well, mr driver "scolded" me my journey there.. saying my brother should be the one flagging down a cab and taking it to our home, get money (& whatever) before continuing the journey to camp (i dont see much of a difference except i wont need to take bus home myself). well, i guess none of us thot of that when my bro *somehow* had only 10cents to call home and tell my mum. we were all hyped up and panicking already, lest to say, not in the best of mind to think of such *high-level* solutions early in the morning. in case you're wondering, my dad sent my brother to AMK. think he only reaslised he didnt have his wallet with him when he was at the gantry (though i must confirm with him). in any case, dad isnt the best person to tell you've forgotten your wallet, hp and camp pass (coz it'll make him late for work and he hates - abit strong word to use but it aptly describes - it) so well.. lesson learnt. mum's morning nags are good! =p
