It was a long and tiring day. Started last night, the search for furniture. =p In case you are scratching your head, most apartments come unfurnished here in US - well, I hafnt rented an apt in SGP so I can't really tell. Heh. so there's this listings called "Craigslist" and here, pple put up all sorts of stuff to sell - including apartments, for rent too - that's how I got my summer housing. =) & trust me, it was a pretty good deal. Buying things off this list is great! Except the part on self-collection and transportation. Haha. Nonetheless, the petrol is worthed it when some items go for free! (It seems unbelievable but some pple are desperate to get rid of stuff, esp when moving..) We're getting 2 free chairs (computer kind) and probably some other household stuff.. got two $5 storage drawers (plastic kind but really nice ones!!) from that guy - he's moving to California. =) we also obtained a $10 microwave oven and a $5 glass dining table. *beams*
Tomorrow, we're renting a U-haul (short for "you-haul" - means you carry) vehicle (some cargo van or sth) and picking up a free couch and 2 other computer desks. it's hard work but well, it's cheap, good and we're probably gonna re-sell them, on craigslist lah, after summer. ship back some like Chris' chair - he got a very nice one for $6! I'm jealous! Haha. Hopefully we can earn a few bucks out of the ones we got for free. Haha. =) k folks, time to head out grab dvd and head home to rest - internet is only available probably wed noon (that's thur 3am for SGP time - Seattle is 15 hrs behind) so till then, online will be rather limited as we have to drive to the recreation centre (2 mins from our apt) to get free wireless.. =)
