Read all about it!

Read all about it, read all about it!! an advertisement goes like this: get $10,000 if you are satisfied with your life.

many people turned up that day. most early. (i'm sure you know. dont ask me why! it's so obvious) in fact, the queue was so long, you couldnt even see the end of it. hmmpf. ok.. everyone presents their best behavior. they smile and seem to take things easy. so one by one, they enter the room, trying to persude the rich guy to part with his $10k for the many reasons they had. "i have a wonderful family.. i love my wife and my 2 kids.. i'm satisfied with life.." another goes "i have the best job in the world. i enjoy what i'm doing.. my boss is great, my colleagues are helpful.." yet another person says "i've gotten the worlds' most number of degree.. my career is at its peak and things are just going so fine. even my dog loves me!"

no prizes for guessing who's the winner. cant tell? clue: read the ad again. no? well, if they are in the queue in the first place, they arent "satisfied" with life! they want more. they want the $10k. heh. pastor lilian delivered a very good sermon today. the outline came from Matthew 19:16-22 which talks about this man who asked Jesus what was the one thing he lacked that he might obtain eternal life. Jesus listed commandments to which the man said he had kept to since young. so Jesus said that if he wanted to be perfect, he should go and sell his processions and give it to the poor; he will then earn for himself, treasures in heaven. but sadly, as the story went, the man went away grieving. he came to Jesus to find life. because he was not satisfied. he knew there was a lack. how about you, my friend? are you going to "sell" away that one thing that keeps you away from God? are you letting your earthly "possession" take hold of you? let go.. and let God. =) ask Him for grace..

anyhows, speaking of queueing.. i queued for cha kway tiao for almost 40min? maybe longer. i wasnt paying much attention to the time. had a book i borrowed from the library about tennis. =) yeah, trying to improve on my skills by myself. no one has really taught me the correct strokes and techniques so will try to work them out myself. =) it was really a long long wait. by then, mum and dad had finished their dinner and were waiting for me to eat the remaining of the satay (yummy!!) and dao huey (soya bean curd).
