i was a YF-er. or so it was called. haha. MYF. methodist youth fellowship. it's no more - disbanded and integrated with sunday school to form YM (youth ministry). that's like a few years back already. i remember the time when i first started off in Wesley. that time, things were pretty bad coz i just broke up with my bf and prior to that, i stopped attending church altogether because 1. uni was too taxing - work wise as well as hall activities; 2. the ministry i was involved in JC (high school) somehow led me to drift away from my own church because i was serving under the supervision and leadership of another church. all in all, there were just too many excuses and reasons why i hadnt attend church. i dont remember the exact details but i think one day late in the evening, i walked back to hall with ernest (he stayed the next block) and somehow, God led me to share with him my struggles and my condition then (how wonderful the Lord is - He answered my prayers! led me to talk to a christian in my class =p). ernest invited me and introduced me to the most wonderful people God has ever blessed me in my life! - MYF. disclaimer: other than my love and my family. =p
somehow the bond among us remains strong to this day, no matter how long we have not seen or kept in contact with one another.. nor how life has changed. of course it is also at events like funerals, weddings or departure for further studies do we get to "gather together" - duno if you'll define it as good or bad =p and see people we have not seen in ages! familiar faces worn out by time and things of this world. 10,000 days on earth is but a mere 27 years? no, we have not known each other for 27 years. nor am i even 27 yet. but the bond remains and the love for God and each other grows stronger for those who still make the effort to keep in touch. these people are just a phone call away, dependable day or night, anytime, anyday.. these people made an impact in my life.. and what's the best? these people love God! amen. if anything, i'm just so glad i was a YF-er. thank You Lord!
