officially moved out of shao's place. to leave him & kenny space to study for their finals.. =) [see what a nice gal i am =p] but hmm, looks like it'll be days of being alone in a big empty apartment. hahah.. shall see what this small town has to offer..
playing around with this new software i downloaded yesterday (after influence from shao). picasa. not bad. i've read reviews on it but the move came bcoz was kinda inspired with the photo editting shao was doing. though after some playing around with it, i figured there's a limit to what it can do.. shall upload my photos later when i've done more playing around.. prob in the aftn. not too fantastic though but well, will have to make do. will try to get from the others their set of photos (think almost everyone brought digital camera.. so u imagine about 100 pics per person will equate up to 900 in total??)
anyway, a short summary of my Victoria, Canada trip..
we woke up @4am so that we could catch the 745am ferry @ Anacortes to Sidney BC. the drive up to Anacotes took about an hour from Seattle. the sun was up abt 5+am.. it was bright & sunny (as though it was sgp's 10am). some of us caught some sleep in the ferry (the ferry allows for cars to go on & be transported together with us) while others chatted. i made sandwiches for everyone the night before. =) the trip took abt 2.5hrs even though the ferry was traveling at top speeds.. it's really much faster than the fast-crafts & penguin ferries you get back in sgp. imagine those big cruise ships.. well, i've never been on one but they certainly travel fast!
went to butchart gardens (this very famous garden.. alot better than our botanical gardens for obvious reasons) after lunch. or brunch if you don't consider the sandwiches i made as breakfast. =p we spent 3hrs there.. taking all the photos of beautiful flowers.. & taking photos of beautiful flowers.. opps, what else did we do there? hee. too mesmorised liaoz..
headed to our hotel. dumped our stuff & went downtown to meet up with some international students (from shao's uni). apparently they had tea for 50bucks/person!! cut-throat sia. (Canadian dollars is about 1.4 of SGD). walked ard to take more pictures (if only i didnt forget to bring spare batts.. i'd have close to 200 photos already!) & by the time we realised, it was running almost 9pm & we haven't had dinner (it's like bright until 8+pm here) so hunted for eatery where we finally settled in a pub. good food. =)
i went back to sleep while some of them went out for star gazing. next day nothing much other than an exciting rush for the ferry which we missed by 7min. but it was good even though we didnt get to see Vancouver coz we got to 'hike' through a forest to get to this pub (which was nicely smacked at the edge of the forest) & we gals (3 of us) shared a nice stawberry milkshake! yummy! then a long drive back to Seattle.. 200+miles. had a long wait at the immigration side coz of my visa but it's settled.. so yep, needn't worry. thanks to all who have been praying for my safety as well as my 'visa-problem'..
