forgive me Lord, when i'm quick to react. most of the time, in wrong ways. let me have that sense of peace and lead me Your way i pray..
God has just been so gracious and faithful. when we are weak and weary, He is our tower of refuge and strength. =) anyway, recent months have been just struggling to find time to spend with God. friday night bible study with the singaporeans help keep focus but sometimes, because i'm more in the leadership/shepherd role, it's hard to find rest and enjoy. plus took a break coz pple travel over winter.. it's not so much of the fact that i *have to* serve but more that sometimes, we also need to run to God and a community of pple to "back you up". it is at times like these when i miss akuou so much (my small grp in sgp).. where i take on more of a 'learner' than a 'teacher' mode.
we went to park street church today. i cant remember how many times we've been there already but since christian's out of town (he doesnt like park street's traditional svc; he likes highrock svc which has comtemporary worship) and kae shin wanted to check it out plus get to know more singaporeans, we met her there. guess what? i saw 2 pple doing sign language interpretation! i couldnt help but keep my eyes on them every once in awhile and also to 'sign' along in my head as the sermon and songs went by. ASL (American Sign Language) wasnt too different from SEE (Signed Exact English). =p i haven't seen it before - i'm wondering if i was just 'blind' or hmm, they 'appear' once in awhile when interpretation is needed. anyhows, it wasn't the only thing that i felt a tug in my heart. they were giving a ministry update and apparently, they have schools under the church! one of them (middle-high sch) was mentioned by lisa riodan (a classmate of mine) - she had said i shld check it out but i *kinda* gave it a miss because it isnt very near home. somehow or other, i feel that perhaps i shld give it a thought (& maybe a try) to teach there. i really duno. independent schools have freedom but pay lesser. i'm not sure about the hours but well, i guess it'll be so cool to be able to bring faith into the classrooms.. pls pray with me!
met barry and puay yin to get my water bottle back after svc - i accidentally left it in barry's car the last time he drove us down to rhode island. opps! they attend park street's 11am svc. then brought kae shin for sunday international fellowship. they have grown like twice as big! gosh! =p but definitely an exciting place. guorui remembered me (so touched!) and we chatted a little before he had to help put chairs and tables away. decided that i am not called for international ministry here.. but definitely did think of how it can help if i ever wanted to go missions elsewhere. heh.
