a week has passed by so quickly! it seemed as if i just left home yesterday (i suspect i'm gonna blog this line somewhere in the future *grinz*). i woke up especially early this morning so i could go online and talk to dad - i spoke to mum earlier last night. well, it's much easier to catch mum since she's at home most of the day.. while dad and brother would be off at work/camp. =) wireless indeed aint 100% all the time. in fact, i'm tapping on our neighbour's wireless coz i cant seem to be able to config my laptop to our 2-in-1 wired/wireless router (which isn't to say that wired connections is good so we're suspecting it's the router's fault). sigh. not trying to solve much (i'm probably the least IT person in the house) but the most obvious down side of it is that i've to work in the living room. i guess the laptop is "lap" for a reason.
i'm still trying to work on my english. both to articulate better and of course, get my grammar right. it'll be so embarrassing to stand in front of the students and stammer.. pls pray for me. =)
shall give you some treats.. a rough summary (of sorts).
thu evening
cooked dinner. for 4. which was hard to estimate (chris moh = 2 persons :p) and moi = 1/2. after some freezing of my fingers and poking at the meat with fork umpteen times, i managed to extract 4 pieces of chicken thigh (it came in a block of hmm, dozen? maybe more). set to marinate the pieces and get it ready to be baked. didnt have the slightest idea what temp to set it but somehow, my instincts told me 350 deg. i cant say it's right/wrong but the chicken turned out pretty ok. would have been better if i had more sauces. cooked mixed veg in the microwave, after much experimentation. heh. but.. but.. no, i didnt get it burnt or anyth close to that. it's just the rice cooker.. it being small and all (yes, you can see all the excuses boiling up.. :p) so rice turned out *erhm, pretty?* hard.. simply because (i think) i didnt follow mum's instructions but decided to follow the markings on the rice cooker pot -> bad idea. conclusion: always follow mum's. mum knows best. =) so.. yeah, tried to salvage it by turning it into fried rice (fried with the mixed veg). didnt do too well but at least i tried and it was still edible..
fri evening
bible study. i went to the wrong class. base line. haha. was supposed to attend grad class with vivien but some mix-up. the person ushering thought i was still a student (smiles at the thought) so she directed me to the wrong room (not that she knew it was wrong. haha) - i kinda figured it out only after worship but i thought it would be funny to stand up and leave, so i stayed on. best thing of the night? we met a singaporean who was in keng's organ class (some erhmz, 5-7years ago?) and he knows the SHAOs - shaocai and shaohong!! well, ok, they're the only 2 guys i know with "shao" in their names. haha. nice chap. we're probably mtg for dinner before he leaves to tour US before heading back to Singapore. but it really felt very good to meet a Singaporean half way round the earth.. it is a small world indeed! =)
