Horror of Horrors

met up with Raymond for lunch @ Magic Wok today.. it's been years since we last met. ok, probably since last year or sth. well, this hall 5 senior has always been a special friend, like a big brother always on the lookout for me when i was a freshie. we don't usually keep in contact much since i moved out although we both have each other's icq & msn. but strange enough, he's always there to lend a listening ear.. to hear of my complaints.. to advice me on things.. to pull my leg (always *hmmpf*) & to encourage me when i'm down. 4 years into our friendship, he's still always suaning (making fun of) me. but it's him. he's always so bubbly & fun. that's why he was so suitable as vice-chairperson of HAVOC (hall 5 orientation committee). cant imagine silly us having OC meetings from 830pm-ish to 1am-ish every monday night. AND after that, it would be a time spent with my partner, Junjing, discussing the details for the following week's program presentation. crazy! i don't think i can do it now (getting too old for such stuff =p).

spoke of our future plans. how we both have the same interest in going into teaching. he's planning (most probably) to go to NIE. take the mainstream. but it's also the most viable & 'safe' plan considering finances & chances of going to overseas universities. i shared my time in US & also told him how i'm looking into education & all the ideas i have. he told me to try contract teaching (as like everyone else) & then go ahead with my overseas 'adventure' though he say to join him go NIE should they take him in.. hahah. well, we'll see where God leads. doors that will be opened/closed according to His plans.. =)

then went to this product trial/survey that Hannah had introduced. first thing that shocked me was the lady asked if i spoke any Cantonese.. i wasn't quite prepared but i heard myself replying 'yes, a little'. and so.. the entire product demonstration & description for the next 2 hours was in Cantonese!! *gasps* i felt as though i was in Hong Kong! hahah..it's amazing how i understood most of it considering me not being familiar with the terms she used (had to guess some parts because I myself ain't even well-versed in Chinese to begin with!).

ok, maybe i've over-exagerrated. not horror of horrors lah. =) anyway, i'm embarking on learning Korean.. going well so far. need to discipline to study school work (& do tutorials), learn Korean, do bible study homework, finish packing my room & all the other stuff i plan to do.. *poof. off to work..*
