38 days of sch. oh wait, 37. coz i just got approval to take personal leave on the last day of sch! =) heading to dearborn, michigan (still in the US) with my church's youth on a mission trip. outreach to muslims. it will be really interesting. i'm the only female leader at the moment, and the only other non-church staff. jd (youth pastor) will head the first part, and then john (missions pastor) will lead the second part. not sure what i've signed up to exactly, but felt like God telling me i have the summer off, and i shld do sth meaningful abt it! heh. a little nervous, 'coz all the youths who are going are high-schoolers. me? i've been with the middle-schoolers.. so i dont know anyone except grace. but i suppose paul's right (the guy who did an orientation for us coz he's been serving in the muslim world for a long time) in that there are "3 ways to get to know a person" in the arab world. 1. live with them. 2. journey with them. 3. lend them money. lol.
pray for us as we are also applying to go for a (short-term) mission trip to indo. overwhelming response was what church told us. so now have to fill in long application forms and get letters of recommendations! bleah. but good also lah. allows us to reflect and think more carefully on why we want to go. =)
feeling so sleepy these days. PLEASE pray that i will have the discipline to not watch too much naruto (japanese anime) and go to bed early!
