To Kill a Mocking Bird

we took the students out to watch a play today. it was a stone's throw away, mainly because we're right smacked in the middle of many colleges (4-5 of them i think.. maybe more?) as well as hospitals. children's hospital.. medical institutes, medical research centres.. you name it, chances are, you're likely to find it within the vicinity.

anyhows, the play was good! i haven't read the book before (shame on me!) but will be soon coz my neighbour-teacher promised to lend me his copy. i think my students are going to do that book in english classes too so that will be cool. we did have a good 6-8 parents chaperoning with us, coz we couldnt bring 138 kids out by ourselves (the teachers - there're 4 of us). most of the mums saw how their children behaved.. and they were exhausted by the time we returned back to sch. one parent even said to ms. orellana and me "wow, my respect for you teachers has just increased!". muahahaha~ frankly, i thought it was pretty poorly organised. students just followed, esp when crossing the road. they totally ignored traffic!! a parent and i had to scramble for 2 of the girls and man, it's so dangerous! no one told us how to walk to the theatre, much less tell us to "line up" to get in. it was quite a mess. and the students were seeking out other students from other groups, in an effort to "make contact". a lot of the girls were also carrying make-up, perfumes and creams. sheesh! one of my girls wore so thin, i was sure she was very cold. i was in a down-jacket lah! plus it was raining.. girls.. 爱美不要命。(translated: love beauty, dont bother abt life) the parent and i just laughed it off. =)
