missing in action for quite some bit. mainly coz i stayed over at a-long's place. about 2 weeks. there was internet for the first week.. then she decided that her cable subscription was costing too much, so she stopped it. =( internet-less for quite a # of days.. did have a few chances to check my emails at sch.. but was depending largely on love to open and read me my emails over the phone.
as it turns out, God is always good. i got a paycheck for $2.8k for my relief teaching stint. quite grateful, quite happy. the car's draining that amt though. had the transmission fluid flushed 2x and the broken exhuast pipe replaced for 502bucks. yikes! what to do.. for now, i think we plan to sell the car. maybe cheaply.. to recoup our 'losses' and maybe get a slightly newer one. love's a little concerned abt how we might move to another state or west-wards after he grads next year. tho my concern would also be, if i do get this job i've interviewed for.. would it be very bad of me to leave after one year? plus if i leave after one year, who's gonna sponsor my h1-b visa?? argh.. like what someone said.. one step at a time. =p trust God!
so i drove down from boston. i think i left home abt 5:30-ish pm. ran some errands.. like passing ji-jon and felicity some books & cards.. the bak kut teh a church member asked for - which my parents brought over for me. then headed to south station bus terminal to try and get a refund for my bus ticket. was told it would be valid for 3 months so i didnt cancel it. yet. jammed all the way. finally left boston abt 6:45 to begin my long journey to stamford. it's supposed to take abt 3hours but i arrived at 11:15pm.. took quite many stops coz i didn't want to run the risk of our car overheating like what happened previously. each time raising the bonnet to let the engine cool for abt 15minutes. probably resulted in about 1.5hours' worth of stopovers. in that sense, it's good too. since i was the only driver and it was abt 180miles..
probably gonna try calling up schs in the neighbourhood to ask if they have summer sch and if they hiring math teachers.. haha. love did ask me to rest for the summer but well, 1. i wont have anything to do.. 2. if we're heading back to sgp, it's gonna cost us $$.. we'll see. God will provide.
