Shopping!!

i think we've made some achievements today. i met greg at i-party abt 1 (you shld see the amt of party stuff you can get there!) and walked away with 70 dollars' worth of party goods. thankfully greg had some coupons that had $5 discount for every $25 you spent so i saved $10. =) we bought baby blue forks, spoons and small napkins. we're doing baby blue table cloth for the welcome table and white for the food tables. plates are white and cups are transparent. my colleague, monica, has kindly agreed to bake a cake for us! yay! another colleague's going to do my make up together with karen (hong). thank God for great friends!

headed off to michael's after. this large arts and craft store. there was a wide selection of silk flowers. and i could choose which orchids i wanted! way cool. i think i made greg walk every aisle in both stores. oops! haha. we found vases for the flowers for decorations.. but couldnt decide if we shld get the vases first and have the flowers "fit" the vases or go check out flowers first and have the vases "fit" the flowers... anyways, we were done abt 330, so greg suggested we head to the flower farm to check the flowers. =p was a long(er) drive, but we got there safely. =p it was pretty in there. the flowers were priced quite fairly. in the end tho, i decided on calla lillies instead coz they stand out as a single stalk as compared to the original cymbidium orchids i wanted. they were very beautiful, but each stalk cost $10 with about 10 flowers on them. so if we have 10 vases, it would cost quite a bit. =( hmm, but i got silk orchids for a hand bouquet that i'm making for our reception here.

so now, wedding favors are settled. cultery & plates are settled. deco has been decided. need to cater food (havent decided where) and i guess pick songs. maybe i shld get dione (new friend. abby's pri sch classmate) to help put together songs for both our reception here as well as back home. and i just counted - i think we have abt 8 days to our wedding once we arrive back in singapore. sheesh. so fast! we really must settle everything before, so we'll be restful the week before! hehe. keep praying!

before i end off, yesterday i spent most of my aftn and evening with dione. brought her to SSS elections (read: free food) and introduced her to more singaporeans. they gave the seniors graduation gifts and it was really quite cute! keng got a MIT mug that had a pic of a car (with us in it) - "just married" says the car "plate", thanking him for all the car trips we've helped transport food, etc. hehe. so touching! MIT singaporeans: true blue "muggers", as they put it. really cute. the elections was for the next committee and heys.. like what ruijie said, elections w/o voting.. so singapore style. haha! (disclaimer: pls dont quote us, we were just joking.)
