ever wondered where i got this nick? it's a long story.. but in short, i wanted 2 names coz my mum disapproved the earlier name (some nice-sounding name in the bible attached to a bad person). eventually, she combined both names and wahlau, sarabel was born. no prizes for correct guess but well, might treat u an ice cream stick when i'm back. =p

sch has been going pretty well. been busy grading papers - as usual. my students are failing so i've been trying to give them more quizzes to average out their scores. i'm also giving them an incentive to do their homework (or make up if they miss any) by telling them that i'll drop their lowest quiz score if they have everything turned in by next friday. i guess you would imagine more motivated students in the top public school in boston, but maybe that's just too high an expectations that i have as their math teacher. it's definitely hard to juggle so many students, as well as take study periods (students come in for well, supposedly "silent" self-study -- that hasnt happened unless i threaten them -- i cant seem to motivate them to stop talking). just got news that i'd be reliefed of one study so that i can meet with the other teachers in my cluster to talk about students. *phew*

been busy every night since last week, so haven't been sleeping all proper. hopefully it'll get better next year when i have all the materials already prepared. =p me gg to take a nap liao, so wanna wish all those who still drop by my blog here & there: Blessed CNY!!
